The Art of John Rigby


John Rigby passed away on 18 October 2012 at the age of 89. He was a well-established Australian artist based in Brisbane and particularly known for his Australian tropical and bush landscapes, genre and portraits. Rigby's career saw him painting in Australia, New Guinea, Europe, Egypt , Bali and the South Pacific since the 1940's.

A lavishly illustrated book, John Rigby: Art and Life, launched at the Queensland Art Gallery details his life and contains reproductions of more than 200 artworks. Click for a selection of 56 pages from "John Rigby: Art and Life"
