The Museum of Brisbane recently acquired this portrait of the late master potter Carl McConnell (1926-2003) from the estate of John Rigby.
The painting was a finalist in the Archibald Prize for 1962 and has featured in a number of exhibitions over the decades. It is reproduced in ‘John Rigby: Art and Life’ on page 169.
